HOW CATS HAVE BEEN REPRESENTED THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND CULTURE

Cats were first found in the East Neolithic Period in ancient Egypt. Egyptians believed that cats were magical creatures that were capable of bringing good luck to the people who praised them. Although Egyptians praised all cats, black cats where one of the favourites. Black cats were know to keep evil spirits away. Did you know that if a person was caught killing a cat (in Egypt) they would face a death penalty.

Cats symbolise mystery, magic and healing. They can also be linked to demands, witchcraft and darkness and also very positive things suck as independence, balance, hope and spiritual enlightenment .
