Rising Covid-19 Deaths Cause Protests in Brazil

On Saturday 20,000 protesters marched on President Bolsonaro's Palace where police shot five demonstrators dead. Three out of five deaths were preventable says Amnesty International.

Dr Nigel Frazer a neuroscientist stated that "This is genocide".

In June last year the number of Covid-19 deaths was 50,000 and many people fear that 800,000 people could be dead by the end of the year.

"Its very scary", Declan Thao, from W.H.O said with 75% of brazils deaths are from covid-19.

Brazil has a population of 200 million people, and still has no vaccination program. Many Brazilians are pushing to have a vaccination program introduced as Brazil is set to run this years Copa American Football Tournament.
