Today Rachel, Keira and I interviewed our teacher Ms Tuma. We learnt more about her and what she did before she was a teacher at Forest Hill College.

When Miss Tuma was a young child, she wasn't too sure about what she wanted to do after school. She knew she wanted to work with kids and was a bit of a bookworm in her schooling years. As a young child she continuously moved schools and when she finally settled in one school she loved her experience there. Going into High School helped her realize what her interests were and found more like-minded people wich made her enjoy school.

Towards the end of year 11 is when she started thinking about being a teacher and once she got to year 12 she made the final decision. Something that inspired her to become a teacher was the teaches she had growing up. That made Ms Tuma realise that she wanted to work with people in the future as well as working with her passion which was english and literature.

Ms Tumas first job growing up was a dance teacher. She started dance at 3 years old then had a break while growing up and in her later high school years she started teaching dance. When she started dancing she learnt tap and jazz which she enjoyed. Later on she also started ballroom dancing which she said helped with her deb. Being a dance teacher made her want to teach more children as she was seeing that socializing and helping people made her and others feel good and happy.

Ms Tuma has only been a classroom teacher for around 2 and a half years. She also studied politics and philosophy and had a double degree in teaching, and majored in arts and literature.

In the more recent years she found remote learning interesting and challenging at times. Her cat Bonnie also made it interesting as well as being a distraction as she would walk all over her keyboard. Overall Ms Tuma enjoyed remote learning but would have prefered to be in a classroom.
